About The [Book]
Unlocking Your [Potential]
This book, Unlocking your potential (The Voyage home; Ricardo Webley’s interpretation of Matthew Chapter 9) gives us an idea of what our return to where we call home can be like. Going to where home will be, does not always allow you to feel like you are returning in the best of ways. We usually want to feel that part of home sweet home without ever having to go through great ordeals. This chapter can very much reflect some of the things we have to face with the journey of life. Our trips that we will take here on earth to eventually reach that home that God has prepared for us as our final nesting place. Beyond the grave is where we should endeavor to reach, or beyond the sky. As we age we are getting closer to that greater portion of reality. Until then let us compare the dynamics of what the road that we have to travel looks like then and now.
The main theme or focus of the text in Matthew chapter 9, which this book is part of the New Testament. It illustrates Jesus’ ministry through a series of miraculous events that highlight His authority and compassion.
There are several key events, the first one being the healing of someone that was paralyzed. Jesus heals him, demonstrating His authority to forgive sins.
Jesus then called Matthew who was a tax collector. Wanting him to follow Him, which showcases His mission to reach sinners.
Later, Jesus dines with the tax collectors and sinners, prompting criticism from the Pharisees, to which He responds that He came to call the sinners, not the righteous.
There also became a question about fasting, Jesus explains that His presence brings joy, likening it to new wine needing new bottles.
There was also healing of a Woman that had the Issue of blood. This woman touches His garment in faith and is healed.
There was also the raising of Jairus’ Daughter. Jairus was a synagogue leader, who asserted strongly and firmly about Jesus’ power over death.
This chapter concludes with Jesus healing two blind men and a mute man which was possessed by a demon. This further illustrates Jesus’ miraculous abilities and compassion.
Overall, this chapter highlights many things, like Jesus’ authority, His mission to save, and above all His compassion for all those in need. Therefore, it’s our journey home to the place where we will one day be with the Lord. Until then, we will often find ourselves in need of the safety of our Savior.
It is nice to know we have his help along the way and it is up to us to let him know.
Father, Teach me The Truth
“Finding peace in a world that often lacks care for one another can be challenging. We frequently turn to ourselves or others as the primary means to solve our problems. However, by doing so, we risk missing out on the greater vision and guidance that the Teacher has for our lives. To align the guidance we seek with our expectations, we sometimes need to clarify our approach to the Father. *Father, Teach Me the Truth* is an incredible book because it reminds us of how often we overlook God’s mercy and blessings, rarely stopping to thank Him. Jesus calls us to recognize the mercy of God and understand that forgiveness is freely given. The Lord has given us the freedom to choose the life we wish to live. Yet, many wait for visible miracles, missing out on God’s love and mercy in everyday life. The path to a truly prosperous life has always been revealed through the written Word of God. As we strive each day, we learn to apply truth and patience, trusting that everything is in the Teacher’s hands.”
